Memorial Microfunds

Intended to honor the legacies of our ancestors by funding projects and providing support in areas they championed.


Holly E. Brallier Fund - Holly E. Brallier was a swim coach who was dedicated to teaching others how to swim. This fund will pay for lifeguard certification to a Davidson County resident. The winner will be selected by Holly’s widower, Steve, and her three children, Caroline, Carter, and Jessica.

Bayard Rustin Fund - Bayard Rustin was an American speaker and leader in social movements for nonviolence, civil rights, workers rights, and gay rights. This fund will be awarded to an excellent speech inspired by Elevate Your Vibe: Ten Ways to Grow You, selected by the author Rashad Rayford.

Lucille Clifton Fund - Lucille Clifton was an American poet, writer, and educator who was known for making simple language beautiful. This fund will be awarded to a poet who writes a poem that promotes collective healing.

Myles Horton Fund - Myles Horton was an educator, minister, socialist, and civil rights leader. He also co-founded the Highlander Folk School (now Highlander Research and Education Center). This will fund a community organizer or educator who champions being a co-conspirator vs ally. The recipient will be selected by southern co-conspirators Lyndsey Godwin and Allyn Steele.

Music History Fund - Nashville's rich music history is often unknown. This fund will support the winning poster or song that highlights Nashville's unknown music history. The recipient will be selected by Lovenoise CEO and music entertainment lawyer Eric Holt.

Community Microfunds

Dedicated to the impact people make in our lives. We aim to address community needs and honors people that inspire pride.


Jessica Care Moore Fund - Jessica Care Moore is internationally renowned a poet, publisher, playwright, and performance artist who has impacted the world through the arts. This fund pays for community projects inspired by one of her poems.

Antoinette Armstrong Fund - Antoinette Armstrong is a softball player, coach, professional athlete, and dental hygienist who always supports the community. This fund provides a book scholarship to a dental hygiene student at Tennessee State University.

J Lee Bonnet Fund - J Lee Bonnet is a local volunteer who has spent over thirty years in food security and animal rescue. This fund supports a Davidson county student who creates a project in food security or animal rescue.

Erika Burnett Fund - Erika Burnett is a master trainer, consultant, and facilitator who helps communities and organizations deepen impact and challenge the status quo. This fund supports a strategic community project led by an African American woman.

Deniece Ferguson Fund - Deniece Ferguson is a social justice and youth advocate who has served youth-led organizations in Nashville for over thirty years. Deniece Ferguson recently became a licensed electrician. This fund will provide respite to a local leader who is transitioning careers.

Women of Color Collaborative is honored to serve as the fiscal host for the fund. All donations will be distributed per the Fund's intended purposes and are tax deductible.
